Our Holistic Therapy Program is a complete treatment plan that covers an individual’s mental, physical, and spiritual aspects. This makes us different because we provide conventional treatments and other non-conventional treatments that assist our clients in getting the best results and improving their health.
Holistic therapy was developed from the belief that every part of the human body and spirit is connected. Holistic treatment is based on treating not only the body but also the mind, soul, and emotions, and not only the visible signs of addiction or mental illness. The aim is to achieve harmony in the process to support biological, psychological, and social healing, which results in long-term recovery.
Principles of Holistic Therapy
The foundation of holistic therapy lies in the belief that true healing comes when the mind, body, and spirit are in harmony. This approach is quite different from the traditional medical therapies that mostly focus on the symptoms that are usually associated with a given individual. Holistic therapy aims at treating the cause of addiction or mental illnesses and does this without using drugs or surgery.
One of the main principles of the holistic approach is that the body and the mind are interconnected. Most of the people who have addiction problems or mental health issues have what is referred to as the mind-body split, meaning that they have a disconnection between the mind, emotions, and the body. Through the process of people practicing holistic approaches, they are usually able to bring their attention back to their bodies and understand how the mind and emotions influence the body. This increased awareness means that people become more inclined to make better choices and feel a lot better.
Another important aspect of people’s well-being is the spiritual health. Although this does not necessarily mean religious activities, it means creating meaning, belonging, and serenity. These patients may have a history of addiction or mental illness, and many of them experience a sense of purposelessness, despair, or isolation. It gives one a place to focus on the healing of the whole self which is a significant part of the healing process.
